About this play

Rolling over is a baby's first big independent movement and the start of true mobility. You can encourage it by laying your baby on their back and holding an interesting toy out to one side, just past their shoulder, so they twist to follow it. That twist of the hips and shoulders is exactly the motion that leads to a full roll. Always supervise and give plenty of safe floor space.

How to do it (Step by step)
  • Place baby on their back on a soft, safe floor mat.
  • Hold a toy to one side to tempt them to turn.
  • Gently guide a hip over if they get stuck, then celebrate.

Every milestone, beautifully remembered.
